Objective

Ilves Hockey is one of Liiga’s oldest teams. They are not stuck in the past, however, but rather always looking for ways to develop their operation and, especially, the entertainment value of their games. The aim of the project was to create an awesome animation for their team intro that would ignite the home crowd and give the away team something to talk about on their way back home.

Implementation

Our biggest inspirations for the project were the most awesome cartoons of the 90s and Japanese animation. For the animation we designed a very buff lynx character, who would run over the Tampere rooftops towards the Nokia Arena, in the process humiliating the opposing teams in the most imaginative ways. We wanted the animation to be cheeky yet stylish. Needless to say, it was an instant hit in the arena and on social media.
