Concept
The Red Nose Day raises funds for impoverished children with entertainment and laughter. We have been building the visual brand of this charitable live show since 2014.
Objective
The Red Nose Day is an annual charity fundraising campaign run by YLE and Nenäpäivä Foundation which culminates in a four-hour live TV show. During the broadcast you can see Karu’s handicraft from the animated opening sequence to AR graphics and set design.
Implementation
Over the years, one has had the chance to admire Karu’s varying styles of graphics in the show. As our latest creation, a two-dimensional, paper-cut-out style with which we brought the TV show closer to Nenäpäivä foundation’s own visual brand. The style is playful but streamlined, and fits both comical and serious themes. Fun, animated transitions give rhythm to different sections of the show and the graphics are repeated in the set decoration. Our graphic design is also used for the show’s multi-channel marketing.
“The red nose day show is a large, challenging and complex production. The visuals have been created in close co-operation with Karu, and they account for the challenges of television image, set design and clarity of information superbly.”
